Ann Elkjär

Award winning flute soloist, particularly partial to new music.

Ann Elkjär is a graduate both from the Gothenburg School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London, from where she was awarded the prestigious "Queen's Commendation for Excellence".
She has won several prizes and awards, among them a second prize in the major Swedish music competition "Ljunggrenska".
In 2005 her debut album together with pianist Hee-Won Park was released, titled "Never A Dull Moment" ( As a devoted chamber musician she is a member of the Gothenburg Chamber Soloists, and works in close collaboration with Swedish guitarist Martin Fogel (

Her interest in contemporary music has also led to the commission and successful premiere of the flute concerto by Joel Eriksson. Ann has also been working with the Gothenburg Symphony orchestra.
