With bold use of cross genre elements and original rhythmic accompaniments they make a sound that is its own.
In 2011 Lajka entered the Swedish music scene.
Multilayered and on the borders of sensuality, their music travels across time and places to borrow styles and energies both far from and deep within their own backgrounds. All three band members have Swedish roots, in their growing up as well as in their folk music core giving repertoire and compositions a solid grounding and direction, though not limiting the music to traditional sounds and tunes.
Keeping the strands together are the personal playing styles and the complex yet playful linking of melodic fragments where no single instrument dominates. With bold use of cross genre elements and original rhythmic accompaniments they make a sound that is its own.
It is Lajka.
