Improvisations around Franz Schuberts undeadly, beatuiful compositions, performed by two jazz musicians.
With equal parts of respect and playfulness Anders Persson, piano and Thomas Gustafsson, soprano saxhophone, approach some of Franz Schubert’s most beautiful melodies, taken from his never-dying song cycles.
The art of improvisation, which was very much alive during Schubert’s time, resurrects in these interpretations; but now from two contemporary swedish jazz musicians’ perspective.
The focus is however always on Franz’ brilliant melodies.
